Why do Slipknot use Fender guitars now?

I’ve never thought of fenders as “metal” guitars. The look, the sound, just…nothing. I really do not understand.
I’m pretty sure they used to use Jacksons.
And don’t just answer to hate slipknot or something.

Now? Jim Root has always used Strats and Teles. John 5 uses a Telecaster almost exclusively. They may not look like metal guitars, but they’re so versatile you can play anything on them. He only used Jackson guitars for a year.

Not that I consider Slipknot much of a metal band to begin with.
