62 Reissue Fender

Will a certain Fender Stratocaster neck fit other models of Fender Stratocaster body?

For example, will a 62 Reissue Fender Stratocaster neck fit a Highway One body? And is this the same case for the other models regarding neck and bodies?

Hello there,

Yes and no. Great answer? They will fit. But you may need to do some modification to get the neck to play. Nearly all Fender Strat necks have a 2 3/16th wide heel with rounded shoulders (the Tele has squared shoulders). So they will fit in the neck pocket of the body. The problem is the string height. Not all bodies are made the Fender American specs and may be slightly thinner. That is especially true if you are using a Squier made body or a Fender MIJ body. You may have to shim the neck to get the strings to the right height.

If you use a neck or body made by someone other than Fender or Squier, you may run into more issues. Some of the Strat clones have necks with squared shoulders like a Tele. Some have a 2 1/4 inch wide heel. Body thickness and neck pocket depth can really vary on Strat clones.
